Types of Adoptions Handled by Daya Masada Wright
Foster Child Adoptions
The parental rights of the biological parents have been terminated and the State of West Virginia consents to the adoption.
Stepparent Adoptions
The biological parent consents to his or her spouse adopting the child. The other biological parent must also consent to the adoption by the stepparent or the family may be able to proceed on the legal grounds of abandonment.
Agency Adoptions
The parental rights of the biological parents have been terminated, and the agency consents to the adoption.
International Adoptions
The child has been legally adopted in the country of his or her birth and West Virginia must now recognize the foreign court order as a valid adoption decree.
Private Placement Adoptions
The biological parents have selected the new family for the child and are willing to relinquish their parental rights to effectuate the adoption.
